Read clicks

This article shows you how to take a closer look at the clicks on a single element and how to find the most clicked elements on a page.

Requirements

  • You have opened Live Heatmaps.

Clicks per device

Hover over an element. A small popup shows you how often it was clicked on a computer, on a tablet and on a phone. The total is at the very bottom.

Screenshot of the sitebrunch extension: The mouse is on the Weißweinproben (white wine tastings) button. A small popup above it shows the clicks per device: 66 on a computer, 0 on a tablet, 0 on a phone and 66 in total.

The page works normally while you do this. If you click a link, the next page opens and the heatmap immediately shows you its clicks.

The most clicked elements

Click “Rankings” on the right edge. The “Interactions” tab lists all elements of the page, sorted by clicks. Clicking a row scrolls the page to that element.

Screenshot of the sitebrunch extension with the “Rankings” panel on the right, “Interactions” tab. The list shows the elements of the page by clicks: Weißweinproben (white wine tastings) 66, Rotweinproben (red wine tastings) 40, Weißweinproben 39, Rotweinproben 26, Geschenkgutschein (gift voucher) 22, Weine (wines) 18, Warenkorb (cart) 14 and more.

If a name appears twice in the list, the element exists twice on the page. On vinodo.de, “Weißweinproben” (white wine tastings) appears once for the large button and once for the menu item.

Tip
Check whether the elements at the top of the list are the ones you want there. If an unimportant link is near the top and your most important button is far down, it's worth reworking the page.
