New in sitebrunch: what changed in September 2026

Choosing per project what you use, a new project overview, findings you can hide, an audit wizard and goals for whole sections of your site. Every September update at a glance.

Project overview with visitors, goals reached, people online and accessibility score

In September we rebuilt sitebrunch in many places. You can now choose more easily what you use in each project, the overview tells you in one sentence what is going on with your website, and findings that do not apply to you can simply be hidden. Here is everything new at a glance.

The key points

  • For each project you choose more easily whether you use accessibility, user experience or both.

  • The project overview opens with one clear sentence and shows visitors and score at a glance.

  • You can hide findings as a false positive or as deliberately ignored.

  • A full audit can now be limited to WCAG. sitebrunch suggests the key pages for you.

  • A goal can now cover many pages at once, for example all product pages.

Choose per project what you use

When you create a project, you now choose right away what you want to work on: accessibility, user experience or both. The menu then only shows the areas you picked. That keeps every project tidy, even if you only check accessibility in one project and only analyse visitors in another.

Creating a project: choosing accessibility, user experience or both

You can change your choice at any time under Settings > General > Modules. While you type the address, you also see a preview of your website. If it cannot be reached, sitebrunch tells you why straight away, for example bot protection or password protection. If you picked user experience, you copy the tracking snippet right while creating the project.

An overview that tells you in one sentence what is going on

The project overview now opens with a sentence instead of charts, for example "More people than usual." or "Your score is 80 percent." For projects that only check accessibility, the sentence says who gets stuck where, such as "Anyone using a screen reader cannot reach the checkout."

If you use both accessibility and user experience, you see both at a glance: this week's visitors compared to usual, goals reached and who is online right now, with your score and its trend below. The Worth a look list collects what you can do next, sorted by urgency.

For new projects, the first result now appears after about 3 minutes instead of 10. The rest of the check keeps running in the background.

Hide findings

Not every automated finding applies to your website. In the menu on each finding you can now choose Not a real problem and give a reason:

Hide finding dialog with the reasons Ignore and False positive
  • False positive: the check is wrong here. The finding no longer counts towards your score, so your score goes up.

  • Ignore: you know about the problem and decide against fixing it. Your score stays the same.

You also decide whether the finding disappears on one page only or on all pages, including pages added later. Hidden findings no longer trigger alert emails, and you can show them again at any time. Hiding findings is available from the Starter plan.

Audit wizard: WCAG only or EN 301 549

You now start a manual audit through a wizard. A full audit can be limited to WCAG (60 testing steps) or, as before, follow EN 301 549 (97 testing steps, recommended for the German Accessibility Act, BFSG).

For picking pages, sitebrunch suggests up to seven key pages, such as home, product page, checkout and login, one per page type. Add them with one click.

Goals for whole sections of your site

A goal no longer has to be tied to exactly one URL. Choose "Pattern with *" when you create it and count visits on many pages at once:

New goal with the URL pattern /products/*, counting on many product pages
  • /products/* counts every page directly under /products/.

  • /blog/** counts all pages under /blog/, however deep.

  • /contact|/enquiry counts both pages.

In funnels you can now also use a whole page group as a step. Existing goals keep counting exactly as before.

More new features

  • Pages that could not be checked: the page list now also shows unchecked pages, each with a reason, for example bot protection, password protection or the page limit being reached.

  • Your own user agent: if your firewall only lets certain visitors through, set your own user agent for crawls, checks and screenshots under Settings > General. From the Solo plan.

  • Images without an alt attribute: the overview now shows missing alt attributes directly. You step through the images one by one and mark them as fixed.

  • Domain change notice: if your start page redirects to another domain, the overview tells you right away. We are happy to move your project to the new domain.

  • Summary recipients: choose who gets the weekly summary straight from your team.

  • Enhanced privacy: removing the last part of the IP address before returning visitors are recognised was already possible. Now you switch it on yourself in the tracking settings.

  • More reliable checks: more websites are checked completely, including ones with bot protection or web components.

  • Scroll depth in apps: for Ionic apps and pages with their own scroll area, set the matching scroll container. Scroll depth is then correct again.
