# The audit report

> This article shows you how to use the audit report of your audit.

## Requirements:

- You have an account and can log in.

- You have at least the Solo plan.

- You have created a project for your website.

- You have started an audit and worked through at least some of the testing steps.

## Open the audit report

The audit report is created automatically in the background while you audit and is updated continuously.

This is how you open the audit report:

- Open your project and go to the audit overview.

- Select the audit whose report you want to view.

- Click the “View report” link.

![Audit view of a complete audit. An arrow points to the “View report” button at the top right.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-bericht-offnen.jpg)

As long as the audit is not finished, the report is marked as “Work in Progress” and shows a warning: “This audit is not yet finished and the results may still change.” Everyone who opens the report sees this notice.

![Audit report with the warning “This audit is not yet finished and the results may still change.” Below it are the counters for failed steps, passed steps and documented errors, the website, the status “In progress”, the start date and the checked pages.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-wip.jpg)

### What the audit report contains

The audit report is a summary of your audit results. Among other things, it contains:

- an overview of how many testing steps passed, failed or are not applicable,

- the number of documented findings (comments/errors),

- which website was checked,

- the current status of the audit (for example “In progress” or “Finished”),

- the start date of the audit,

- which pages were checked in the audit.

Below the summary you find a list of all testing steps including their results:

- Passed

- Failed

- Not applicable

The sitebrunch audit report is an HTML document and not a static PDF or Word file. This makes it much more efficient. Anyone can filter the testing steps, for example:

- by **Status**: Passed, Failed, Not applicable,

- by **Severity**: Note, Error, Critical,

- by topic/text: for example certain keywords or topic clusters (image, video, consistency and so on),

- by the department/role that is most likely responsible for the fix (for example design, development, editorial).

![Audit report with the list of testing steps. An arrow points to the filters for status, severity, tags and departments. The tags menu is open and shows options such as design, animations, keyboard and images.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-filtern.jpg)

These filters mainly help the people you pass the audit report on to. They can filter out the topics relevant to them and work through them in a targeted way.

### View findings for a testing step and a page

To see the findings for a specific page and a specific testing step, do the following:

- Find the testing step in the list of testing steps.

- Click the status icon of the testing step.

![Audit report in sitebrunch: a list of testing steps such as “Language of the page specified”, each with one status circle per checked page. One circle is marked red, next to it the note “Issues found (all pages tested)”.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-prufschritte.jpg)

sitebrunch then scrolls you automatically to the section that lists the findings (comments) for this testing step. This section is below the list of testing steps.

![Audit report in sitebrunch: a finding for the testing step “Language of the page specified” with the checked URL, author, date, problem description, suggested fix, linked WCAG technique and a screenshot of the affected area.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-kommentar.jpg)

There you see the list of comments. Each entry usually consists of:

- the URL of the checked page,

- the testing step the finding belongs to,

- the author of the comment and the date

- the problem description,

- the suggested fix,

- the screenshot

With the “Open” link you can open the finding directly in the testing tool again and correct the comment there if needed.

### Share the audit report

To share the audit report with others, you can create a public link.

This is how you share the report:

- Click the “Publish report” button.

- sitebrunch creates a unique link that you can share with your clients or your team.

![Audit report. An arrow points to the “Publish report” button between “Export” and “Start re-audit”.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-veroffentlichen.jpg)

Anyone with this link can view the published report in the browser.

### Export the audit report

To make accessibility fit easily into your existing processes, you can export the audit report to various formats and transfer it, for example, to your ticket system or your knowledge management.

![Audit report with the “Export” menu open. It offers PDF, CSV, Jira, Notion, Asana and Azure Boards.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-exportieren.png)

This is how you export the report:

- Click the “Export” menu.

- Choose the format you want.

The options currently available include:

- PDF

- CSV

- Jira

- Notion

- Asana

### Start a re-audit

If you want to check whether reported problems have since been fixed, or whether changes have caused new problems, you can start a re-audit from the audit report.

![Audit report. An arrow points to the “Start re-audit” button at the top right.](https://website-assets.sitebrunch.com/storage/hilfecenter/audit/prufbericht/prufbericht-reaudidt-starten.jpg)

This is how you start a re-audit:

- Open the audit report of the finished audit.

- Click “Start re-audit”.

sitebrunch creates a copy of your current audit in edit mode. This new audit:

- contains all previous findings,

- guides you step by step through the existing comments,

- lets you check whether the problems have been solved or still exist,

- helps you document new problems caused by changes.

This way you can systematically track how the accessibility of your website improves over time.
